Memorandum of Understanding to be signed between CAVFA and NSESVA The Council of Volunteer Fire Associations (CAVFA) and the National State Emergency Service Volunteers Association (NSESVA) will sign an agreement for mutual understanding, co-operation and collaboration when representing Australia’s emergency service volunteers.

This Memorandum of Understanding, when signed, will provide a united voice in discussion and negotiation on matters of mutual interest.

CAVFA Chairperson, Ken Middleton said the Memorandum of Understanding ensures the needs and concerns of all volunteers will now be considered when discussing matters that may have significant impact on them.

“Together, CAVFA and the NSESVA represent close to 300,000 fire and emergency service volunteers across Australia and the agreement will allow us to have a united voice and mutual understanding on how we can best represent these volunteers.”

NSESVA President, Charlie Moir agreed the arrangement would have many benefits given the mutual interest and combined expertise both associations possess. “The memorandum provides a basis to continue the strong relationship already formed between both organisations and will establish an effective and ongoing dialogue concerning matters that affect the nation’s emergency service volunteers.”
