The Queensland Auxiliary Firefighters Association Inc (QAFA)

Formed in 1991. Previously the fire service was administered by local boards in various areas throughout the state.

With the formation of the Qld Fire Service it became apparent to Auxiliary members that they needed an organisation whereby they were able to liaise directly with their employers.

The Queensland Auxiliary Firefighter Association was formed with a committee consisting of representatives from each region being appointed to a State Committee.

The committee meets regularly with the Q.F.R.S to present recommendations in all aspects of auxiliary training, conditions, facilities ect in compliance with QAFA constitutional rights.

The committee is then able to offer benefits to members by involvement in the decisions affecting Auxiliary Firefighters.

These include:
• Merchandise;
• Workplace Safety;
• Policy Direction & Workplace support;
• Providing assistance through a Distress Fund;
• Website Support.

QAFA is the organisation that can and will protect interests of Auxiliary Firefighters. With members in each of the QFRS Regions, QAFA has the state covered.
